Overview
Many parents say the same thing: their children bring home maths homework using methods we never learned. It can be confusing to see things like partitioning, number lines, bar models, or new ways of adding and subtracting.
As a mum myself, I completely understand this feeling. I often wondered if I was explaining things to Melody in the same way her school does. That’s why I’ve decided to run this workshop for parents who want to feel more comfortable supporting their children at home.
We’ll look at some of the approaches used in schools following the UK curriculum and talk through the areas that usually cause frustration during homework time. You’ll also get some simple resources you can use at home.
